Best award I never won

Posted by RaJ on July 8th, 2007

I did however get an Honorable Mention, which exceeded my expectations.

To say the least.

Disclaisure: this amuses me to no end. Honest, any moment now someone will either ask “What are you grinning about?” or say “Wipe that stupid grin off your face.” Possibly both.

Congratulations and thanks to Velocibadgergirl, who meets all three “requirements” and most definitely deserves the award.

And according to Roberta Ferguson, creator / originator of the Rockin’ Girl Blogger award, guys (i.e. not-girls e.g. me) should “grab the badge and tell a girl blogger out there that she rocks!!” Well, that’s just… great. Great I say! Great!

Seriously. Here’s my problem:

  • I read a LOT of blogs
  • Most of the blogs I read are written by girls
  • They all rock

So I’m picking just two and fully expecting these two will name a few others, who’ll name a few more etc.

First: Cadiz12’s do they read obituaries in hell? She’s been blogging for over two years and consistently amuses and engages readers with a variety of topics and personal vignettes. Cadiz12 - you rock!

Second: Wendy’s Journey Of Redemption. Insightful and interesting posts, tough questions, honest life struggles, humor - I regularly visit and comment at Wendy’s blog, and encourage you to stop in sometime and see what you’ve been missing. Wendy - you rock!

To my “other” girl blog feiends: you all rock. I mean it. And if I see you (a) are a girl and (2) haven’t been given this award by someone over the next few weeks, like Ahnold says “I’ll be back” and I’ll name even more names. It’s almost the least I can do. ;-)

I guess you can add that to your Trophy Case now. Congrats!! Now we know who wears the skirt in the family

Y’know… I seriously considered giving one of these awards to that new blogger writing Colours Of Dawn, but thought maybe I should give her husband a chance to earn some points. Do I need to rethink that decision? ;-)

You go, girl! Congrats on the honorable mention. And expect more Victoria’s Secret mail to come your way, once they get wind of this.

Well…OK…we’ll call yours a kilt then

Good call on the brownie points thing!!

  5. Dawn Says:

Thanks RaJ for encouraging Sirdar with the brownie points. He needs encouragement from time to time, and then sometimes a little push, and then sometimes a kick in the backside, but eventually he gets it. I appreciate the mention. Thanks

  6. Wendy Says:

Thanks RaJ. And you know, I did not have to pay him one cent to have him say that about my blog.

Now I can’t remember, did you want to that cash deposit put into the bank account under the name Radioactive Jam, or just RaJ?

What would you answer if someone asked you “What are you grinning about?” Does honesty triumph?
