Strucken with a Platypus-Borne Virus
Posted by RaJ on April 3rd, 2006
It wasn’t the monkeys this time, and it’s not the voices in my head. Although the way they’re still blaming the monkeys despite OVERWHELMING evidence to the contrary, the voices are giving me a Shakespearian moment: they “protest too much, methinks.” I really hate when they do that but does that stop them? Nooooo! Do they care? Nooooo! Have I digressed? Yeeeesss!
I’ve been infected by the Indie Virus, carried by a leading member of The Platypus Society. According to Wiki - where else? - the pain and swelling from the Platypus-borne Indie Virus “is so excruciating that the victim is rendered almost helpless.” The only known means of relief is to spread the virus to others on the internet.
Please understand I resisted with every ounce of my strength not currently assigned to quelling the insurrection in my head, but to no avail. Thus I have spread the affliction, and hope to soon experience… well, something. Probably involving monkeys but hey, welcome to my world.
Want to pretend you’re a CDC-type investigator? I know I did; there’s more info to be found here and here.

Okay, wait… does this mean I’ve also been infected? Because, I just got over being sick and I really wanted to stay… you know, healthy.

Katie… I’m really sorry. You’ll just have to fight through the symptoms until you’re, you know. Strong enough. To infect someone else. I recommend Syar for starters.

Hoping to spread the infection…

Thanks, RaJ. After all, they say sharing is caring.
And I really like the newstuff! And I feel left out. I want to be on aardroll too! Can you please use the cartoon character that most looks like me: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/quirkyjen/Tiny_Buttercup.jpg

wendela, I hope the ones you infect appreciate your efforts; I know I do. Wow that seems really strange in “context.” But still.
And I took this opportunity - and your profile pic - as an excuse to add you to the increasingly attractive Aardroll.
Jen, that’s a fine look for you. I was hoping you’d suggest something.

I was wondering where that rash came from… Must get to work on the spreading.

I got a computer virus when I accidentally swallowed a microchip.
I mistakenly believed it to be a McCain Microchip; a potato based product designed with the microwave oven in mind.
It turned out to be a pentium processor. It helped me run faster, but all my previous perceptions had to be upgraded.
That made me ill.

Lucky it wasn’t one of the early Pentiums; imagine what division errors could do to your cells.

Thanks, RaJ- I’m honored.

I’m not so sure they will carry on with the infection, but, hey, what the heck, worth a try.
(Liked those pentium swallowing comments, Ultratoast and RaJ)

Agent Don here - Infected and spreading…
Out!

So do I have the virus already? And if so, does everyone with whom I come in contact have it? In that case, we have a pandemic on our hands! “Hurry, Call the Red Cross…and my mommy!”

I’ve been spared… and I’m not sure whether or not to celebrate or complain. I mean, it’s only a matter of time, but by then I will have hopefully found a cure. 2 for every WMD designed, remember, and I’ve been working very hard in that arena.

What makes you think you’ve been spared?

I just tried to ping you, and couldn’t. Bugger. Trackback doesn’t seem to be working on your site - I clicked ‘trackback’ and used that url, but Haloscan told me “Target doesn’t appear to be a valid trackback URL (debug information below)”.
The ‘debug information’ was no help at all (mainly because I didn’t understand it), but I’m guessing you don’t have trackback installed…? (But what is that trackback link down by ‘comments’?)
Not that it really matters. I was just procrastinating.

Syar for starters?? can I say again how much I HATE missing out on things when I’m not online.
BAH. I’m off to get some fluids. and if I can pry myself off the couch, I’ll get around to infecting someone.
